Growing A Relationship at The Barbican

I recently facilitated a creative workshop for the Barbican Centre part of their ‘Growing A Relationship’ which was exploring the importance of nurturing healthy relationships to enact positive social change.

I invited the guests explore textures, and materials to collage their anchor cards. They will respond to a range of embodied, creative prompts, around relationship centred practice. Guest were invited to explore the mystery of imagery, textures and words, to express their response to deep, self-reflection prompts. I invited them to gently notice what arises in their present moment experience as they are making. The anchor cards travelled with participants throughout the day, and were used to reflect at the end of the day.

Participants will be invited to explore questions such as: “What is the texture of care”, “What nourishment supports us to do the work?” “ How do we tend to our bodies” “How can we honour our needs while holding complex relationships with others” “What enriches us to grow and expand our capacities”, “How do we tend to ourselves, as we meet our edges? “What does growth require?”, “What qualities do we want to embody?” “What does trust feel like in your body?”, “What does more wholeness bring to my life?”, “What are you centred in?”, “What conversations do I need/want to grow?”.

After the creative workshop, participants were invited to explore other workshops. I closed the day with a grounding practice, inviting folks gently back to their bodies, heart and breath. Participants left feeling more “calm, connected and nourished.”
